Laser Hair Removal in Orihuela Costa: How Many Sessions?

Gulnaz Akhmadullina · Updated · 5 min read

Laser hair removal usually takes 6 to 8 sessions, spaced several weeks apart, to noticeably reduce hair. That’s why autumn is the ideal time to start if you want smooth skin by summer. At Caramiel Beauty House in Playa Flamenca, Orihuela Costa, laser days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, with prices from €20 per area.

Most people start thinking about laser hair removal in May, when shorts and swimsuits come out. The catch is that by then there isn’t enough time to finish a course, and it’s also when we spend the most time in the sun. Here’s why you need several sessions and how to plan so summer finds you with the job already done.

Why one session isn’t enough

Hair doesn’t all grow at once. Each hair goes through its own growth cycle, and laser works on the hairs that are in the active growth phase at the time of your session, not on those that are resting or haven’t surfaced yet. That’s why treatment is repeated several times, with weeks in between, to catch each hair as it enters that phase.

On average you’re looking at 6 to 8 sessions, although the exact number depends on the area, how thick and dense the hair is, your skin and personal factors such as hormones.

One more thing worth knowing: laser works best on hair that has pigment. The darker the hair, the better the light can target it. Very light, grey or red hair usually responds less, and it’s better to know that before you start.

Why autumn is the best time to start laser

We get sunshine almost all year round on the Costa Blanca, but far less of it reaches our skin in autumn and winter. That matters for two reasons:

  • Sun and laser don’t mix. You should avoid sun exposure in the days before and after each session. In the middle of summer in La Zenia or Torrevieja, between the beach and the pool, that’s hard to stick to.
  • A course takes months. Add up 6 to 8 sessions with several weeks between each and you’re easily into spring. Start in October or November and you’ll reach June with most of the work behind you.

Plus, in the cooler months your clothes cover more skin, which makes it easier to protect between appointments.

A sample timeline: October to summer

Here’s one way a course could be spread out. It’s only a guide: the gap between sessions is set at your consultation depending on the area and how your hair responds.

Month What happens
October Free consultation and session 1
November – December Sessions 2 and 3
January – February Sessions 4 and 5
March – April Sessions 6 and 7
May Session 8 if needed, plus a review of results
June – September Summer: sun protection and a break from sessions

Prices and what a session is like

Laser hair removal at our salon costs from €20 per area, and each session takes around 40 minutes. We only do laser on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so it’s worth booking a little ahead to keep your sessions on schedule. You’ll find all the treatment areas on our laser hair removal page and the rest of our rates on the prices page.

Before your first session we’ll explain how to prepare your skin and what to avoid between appointments. If you’re taking any medication or have recently been in the sun, please tell us: it helps us decide when it’s right to start.

Good to know before you begin

  • Results vary from person to person. Nobody can promise everyone the same outcome; it depends on your hair type, your skin and sticking to the plan.
  • Consistency matters. Skipping sessions or leaving too long between them stretches the course out.
  • In some cases an occasional maintenance session may be needed later on.
  • The consultation is free and takes about 15 minutes. It’s the best moment to assess your skin and hair and get your questions answered.

Frequently asked questions

Which days do you do laser hair removal?

Tuesdays and Thursdays are our laser days. You can book on WhatsApp or through our online booking.

How much does a session cost?

From €20 per area, and each session takes around 40 minutes. The final price depends on which areas you'd like treated.

Can I sunbathe between sessions?

It's best to avoid sun exposure before and after each session. If you've been in the sun or have a tan, let us know so we can decide whether it's better to wait.

Does laser work on blonde or grey hair?

Laser works best on hair that has pigment, so results on very light, grey or red hair tend to be more limited. We'll look at your hair and skin at the free consultation.
